The regulatory inspection process – 10 December

December 10, 2020 @ 2:00 pm 5:00 pm

Our financial services regulators don’t work in a vacuum. International standards developed by organisations such as MoneyVal and FATF set out what is expected of them.

The FSAs supervisory approach naturally reflects this. Consequently, by examining current international standards and how they are developing, we can better understand the current inspection regime and also gain valuable insights into how FSA inspections might look in the future.

All our seminars are focussed on ‘bringing compliance to life’ and to challenge and educate.

To maximise the learning experience and potential for interactive collaboration and debate each training session is limited to eight attendees.

What are the benefits of attending?

At the end of the training delegates will:

  • be able to explain the objectives of the regulatory inspection process, from the perspective of the regulator
  • understand developments in international standards and trends in regulatory approach around the world
  • be able to explain how this may translate into the current approach of the IOMFSA
  • be familiar with the powers of inspection available to the IOMFSA under the Financial Services Act, Insurance Act and Designated Businesses (Registration and Oversight) Act

Our trainer

Francesca Signorio-Hooper has 11 years’ experience with the Island’s regulator at executive management level.  She is a trained MoneyVal / FATF assessor and chaired the Insurance and Pensions sector NRA working group.  She is a former TCSP director and Assistant General Manager of a life assurance company with over £1bn of assets under management.

Who will benefit from attending this seminar?

This training is targeted towards directors, principals, senior management and compliance personnel, however all staff employed in financial services would benefit from this opportunity.
