A Europol’s joint initiative ‘No More Ransom‘ has 121 different tools that aim at decrypting and shutting down ransomware on one website. With the rise of cyber crime and ransom attacks Europol joined a project with a number of anti-virus and anti-malware software companies.

The No More Ransom website aims to educate people on how to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of a ransomware attack. A few of their quick tips are:

  • Regularly back up data stored on your electronic devices.
  • Watch your clicks – do you know where a link will take you?
  • Beware of attachments in emails.
  • Ensure that your security software and operating system are up to date.

Along with attempting to proactively stop ransomware attacks, No More Ransom also has tools to reactively deal with these attacks. In 5 years these 121 free tools have saved over 6 million people from these attacks and prevented over 900 million dollars worth of criminal profit. This website is an excellent one to have bookmarked as you just might never know when you could need it.
